Southwest Regional 4-H Leader Symposium

Location: Holiday Inn, Indiana, PA
Several workshops are planned for 4-H volunteers on a variety of topics. A brochure will be sent out in January. You can either stay overnight or just participate in Saturday's workshops!

PA Farm Show

The 2009 PA Farm Show will take place January 10-17, 2009, at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. We have a few premium books available in the office or you can visit the PA Department of Agriculture website to get to the Farm Show website. There are many things to see and do during the week long event showcasing PA's number one industry - Agriculture! You may even see some Beaver County 4-H members in the show ring during your visit.

Delaware Valley College Livestock & Dairy Judging Contest

For anyone interested in Dairy and Livestock Judging Saturday, April 18, 2009, is the date for the annual program at DVC. Once more information is released we will share it with you.

Penn State 4-H Capital Days

Teens 15-18 are eligible to participate in this annual state 4-H program. The dates are April 19-21, 2009. Teens will be staying in Harrisburg, PA. Space is limited. More information will be sent out and posted in January 2009.

Pennsylvania 4-H Week

Make plans to celebrate 4-H during Pennsylvania 4-H week March 15-21, 2009.

Southwest Regional 4-H Teen Leader Retreat

Teens may save March 6-8, 2008 for participating in this annual 4-H event. The location will be the Laurelville Conference Center in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Tentative cost is $110 per teen. Brochures will be mailed out in January 2009.

Should we increase the county 4-H member meeting attendance requirement?

We are reviewing the recommendation made this fall to increase the county meeting attendance requirement to 75%. Members would have to attend 75% of 4-H club meetings by the last 4-H meeting before the roundup or fair.

The dates for the 2009 PA State 4-H Horse Show is October 23-25, 2009. This will be the 50th Annual show.
